PhD Opportunity – Wetland Science
I have an opportunity for a suitable qualified candidate under DkIT's PhD Collaborative Research Programme which will be conducted in collaboration with the School of Planning,
Architecture and Civil Engineering at the Queen’s University of Belfast. This PhD project aims to better understand the links between the
hydrological, geological & ecological characteristics of wetland
habitats and their surroundings. Research will examine factors
influencing the transport of nutrients to wetlands, and the processes
which occur within wetland systems that influence nutrient dynamics,
ecosystem functioning, and habitat resilience. In particular, the
inter-relationships between carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus cycles as
influenced by both external and internal drivers will be examined. Details on the application process can be found [link]. Applicants should forward their full CV, detailing any research experience gained to date, along with a covering letter to the Research Office at jane.daly@dkit.ie by the 21st June 2014 5pm. |
